It is now official. I will be going to Haiti in July to help in the relief/recovery efforts. I am so excited!
My boss is awesome; she is granting me a month of unpaid leave so I can go and follow my passion/calling for a month. I'll get a bit more experience in my field that can go on my resume and, even more importantly, I'll be doing what I'm supposed to do. Now I just need to raise the funds necessary to pay my rent and bills for the month without pay...(oh, and my travel expenses)
It will happen. I'll also be able to pick up some Haitian creole before leaving because one of the newer employees at work is actually Haitian and has offered to teach me. Awesome!
are we really still THIS shallow?
